I was lucky enough to be a guest on PBS’ “To The Contrary” this past weekend. We talked about whether or not Democrats have dropped the ball on women voters. My point was that we have to stop thinking about women’s concerns and men’s concerns as if they are a radically different list. Everyone was surprised at the emergence of “Security Moms” (except, of course, my boss - shameless plug) because women had never been thought of as defense voters before. Men voted on taxes and the military, women voted on health care and education. But not anymore. I think the strength of the Mama Grizzly movement has been the fact that it acknowledges that women care about more than just the issues (like abortion) that the left uses to try to portray themselves as the only truly woman-friendly place on the ideological spectrum. A healthy economy and a free, strong America benefit women and men, and I’m glad that more women are warming to the conservative message this election cycle.
